  3. What is WinShade?
  4.  
  5. WinShade is a Windows 95/NT desktop utility that makes it easy to switch between 
  6. programs.  WinShade allows you to assign various commands to mouse clicks that 
  7. occur on a windowÆs title bar.  In addition to minimize and maximize commands, 
  8. WinShade offers two special commands.  The rollup/unroll command allows you to 
  9. reduce a window to its smallest vertical dimension.  In most cases the window 
  10. will "roll up" into its title bar, leaving only a thin horizontal window on 
  11. the desktop.  After working in another application, you can click back on the 
  12. rolled-up window's title bar and the window will expand to its previous 
  13. dimensions.  WinShade also provides a "Send to bottom" feature that allows you 
  14. to send that window to the bottom of the window stack.  This feature is easier 
  15. and quicker than the standard Alt+Tab.  WinShade works with almost all windows, 
  16. including dialog boxes, child windows, and maximized windows.  Customizable 
  17. options include the ablity to remove the tray icon, change the way various 
  18. commands are activated, and assign sounds and hot keys.  WinShade comes with 
  19. a complete help system and can easily be installed or removed.

  22. How do I install it?

  24. It is recommended that you use the supplied Setup.exe application to install WinShade.  
  25. The Control Panel Add/Remove Programs applet will allow you to uninstall WinShade at a 
  26. future date if you wish to do so.  If you have a previous version of WinShade, you 
  27. should install this version over the old version.  However, you must first exit any 
  28. previous version of WinShade before running Setup.exe.
